]]> uncle samOn Tuesday, June 29th, the House voted to approve an extension to the Homebuyer Tax Credit, which will allow transactions already in progress on May 1st to close as late as September 30th, 2010 and still qualify for the $8,000 and $6,500 tax credit. The measure now has to go to the Senate for full approval.

Proponents say this will allow overburdened lenders to process the overwhelming number of transactions in their pipeline. Detractors say the measure will result in additional fraud due to the ability to backdate transactions in order to meet the deadline.  What do you think?

]]> There are some goodies to be had. Like a 4 bedroom, 4 bath, 5,514 sq ft home on .4 acres in 80906 for $569,900, roughly $200,000 below its Zillow estimate.

I know about a couple of houses for sale this month by auction on July 16, 2010. One is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 1,095 +/-sq ft townhome with an opening bid of $1,000 and a value estimated by Zillow to be $115,000! The other is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 1,337 +/- sq ft with an opening bid of $25,000 and a value estimated by Zillow to be $180,000.
