President Obama signed HR 5623, otherwise known as “The Homebuyer Assistance and Improvement Act of 2010”, which extended the closing date deadline to qualify for the Homebuyer Tax Credit. House Votes To Approve Homebuyer Tax Credit Extension

On Tuesday, June 29th, the House voted to approve an extension to the Homebuyer Tax Credit, which will allow transactions already in progress on May 1st to close as late as September 30th, 2010 and still qualify for the $8,000 and $6,500 tax credit. Senate Adopts Amendment to Homebuyer Tax Credit

The Senate has adopted an amendment that extends the closing date for the homebuyer tax credit from June 30, 2010 to September 30, 2010.
